New Men's Shed in Brighton

The Brighton Bayside Men's Shed has a new home, a growing list of projects and an alternate program to attract members of all ages and interests.

Now located in the former scout hall on Dendy Street, which has been renovated by Council, the Men's Shed is open all day Wednesday and Saturday mornings.

"Our Men's Shed is open to men of all ages, life stages, expertise, and skill level to talk, have a coffee, use the machinery and equipment and lead or take part in other activities," Secretary Roger Tyler said.

Members give back to the shed, the community and can also use the equipment for personal projects.

"We work with community organisations on woodwork projects, and have expanded the traditional men's shed focus to include cooking and art classes, gardening groups, and a quiet room to watch TV and use computers."

Council is supporting the Brighton Bayside Men's Shed with a 2019-20 Bayside community grant.
