New mural for Glenelg Esplanade

A new mural will be installed on the Glenelg Esplanade seawall during the month of February.

The artwork will span around 100 metres along the pedestrian path, just south of the Broadway Kiosk to Farrell Street.

The mural is being created by Adelaide artist Alex Bellas, whose works can be seen across South Australia. This will be her first mural in the City of Holdfast Bay.

The artwork design is centred around acknowledging the natural native environment, featuring illustrations of indigenous plants found in the surrounding dune systems.

All the painting will be done using a roller and brush, with the artist working between during daylight hours, from 7am - 8pm.

The pathway will remain open for pedestrians and the artist will be working in a confined area that are adjusted daily.

Weather permitting, the mural should be completed by the end of February.
