The new 'Unimogs' - a $4.6 million investment and resource the SES previously outsourced to the Australian Defence Force - can operate in flood waters up to 1.2 metres.
The SES is also on track to deliver 270 vehicles, 124 marine vessels and 95 trailers to some of NSW's most flood prone parts under the organisation's $56.4 million fleet replacement program.
Minister for Police and Emergency Services David Elliott welcomed the delivery of the vehicles ahead of the storm season and encouraged the community to prepare for any natural disaster.
"Communities need to know their local risk and be ready for the very real possibility of a repeat of recent flooding events, or potentially worse. Now is not the time for us to be complacent," Mr Elliott said.
"Whether it's the prototypes, or our record investment in new rescue vehicles, the NSW Government will continue to work hand in hand with the SES to ensure our volunteers receive the world class equipment they require to keep communities safe this storm season."
