New search commences over the 2010 disappearance of New England man, NSW

Police investigating the 2010 disappearance of New England man, Darren Royce Willis, have commenced a new search in bushland in the state’s north today, NSW Police say.

Mr Willis was last seen leaving a hotel in Maitland Street, Bingara, on the evening of Friday 10 December 2010.

Strike Force Barca was formed to investigate Mr Willis’ disappearance. Police are treating his disappearance as a suspected homicide.

About 8.30am today (Tuesday 26 June 2018), officers from New England Police District, with the assistance of police divers and Operation Support Group officers, commenced a search in Eaglehawke Reserve, also known as Four Mile, in Bingara.

A $350,000 reward was announced for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for the death or disappearance of Mr Willis.

Police are appealing for anyone who may be able to assist in the investigation to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
