New Youth Action Plan Launched in Katherine

NT Government

The Territory Labor Government is partnering with local organisations to deliver Youth Action Plans across the Northern Territory to provide wellbeing and safety support for all young people.

The second plan for Katherine was launched last night with a focus on key achievements from the inaugural plan and new opportunities to ensure accessible positive pathways for young Territorians in the region.

Katherine's 2022-2025 Youth Action Plan sets out objectives in five key areas to ensure young people can thrive, participate and reach their potential.

These are Community and Culture, Health and Wellbeing, Sector and Growth, Learning and Jobs and Safety and Support.

The voices of young people in Katherine have been clear and heard - they want the opportunity to actively participate and contribute to the town's future and this plan underpins working together with young people at a local level.

This helps to ensure that the services and programs that are delivered by Government are relevant and appropriately reflect their needs.

The new plan was a collaborative effort with the Katherine Youth Interagency Group, Circulanation, young people and key stakeholders throughout the community and it will strengthen the coordination of youth programs and policy both locally and more broadly across the Territory.
