A Newcastle man was initially so stunned by the revelation he'd snagged $100,000 in yesterday's Lucky Lotteries draw that he hung up when we tried to contact him.
The New South Wales resident held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 11070, drawn Thursday 23 April 2026 and looks forward to a neat $100,000 prize.
When he eventually stayed on the line long enough to hear the news, he erupted in celebration.
"Woo-hoo! I'm so happy," he said when he called back an official from The Lott.
"I've got to apologise for hanging up on you earlier. I just got nervous.
"I've been playing for decades now, and I wasn't sure if I'd ever win a major prize.
"It feels amazing. It's surreal.
"I'll be buying a trailer boat. It's something I've always wanted and now I can make it a reality.
"I'm just so happy. Thanks so much!"
His winning entry of 10 consecutive numbers was purchased on The Lott website - the official home of Australia's lotteries.
