The rollout of Tasmania's COVID-19 vaccination program continues to go according to plan, with bookings for the State's first community clinics open from today.
The first Community COVID-19 vaccination clinic starts in Kingston on Monday afternoon with clinics at Launceston (Mowbray), New Norfolk and Brighton standing up throughout the week, as part of phase 1b of the vaccine rollout.
Tasmanians who are able to receive their vaccine as part of Phase 1b include;
- Elderly people aged 70 and over
- Remaining health care workers not vaccinated in Phase 1a
- Younger adults with underlying medical conditions
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults over 55 years
- Critical and high-risk workers, including Defence; police, fire and emergency services; and those working in meat processing
We expect to vaccinate more than 16,000 Tasmanians at the four clinics over the next four weeks.
