Next Step For Brand Tasmania

Tasmanian Government

Five years after moving to Tasmania to help launch Brand Tasmania, founding CEO Todd Babiak is moving on to a new opportunity.

Premier Jeremy Rockliff thanked Todd for his commitment to Tasmania, our brand and, most importantly, our people.

"Todd and his team have built a brilliant platform, with thousands of partners across business, Government, and in the community, and I'm thankful for his ideas and leadership," Premier Rockliff said.

"The story behind 'the quiet pursuit of the extraordinary' is incredibly powerful, and we are excited for what Brand Tasmania does next."

Mr Babiak began working in Tasmania in 2017 before moving his family across the world in 2019 to head up Brand Tasmania.

"Tasmania is a global leader in place-branding because Tasmanians built it with us from the bottom up," Mr Babiak said.

"We listened carefully to unearth the story of this place and its people. Then we launched a client service organisation to help everyone use it - a unifying cultural expression and strategy.

"It's been the honour of my life to be here, working with and for Tasmanians, in a small but brilliant team, inventing a new way to do an old thing. Now it's time for the organisation to move into maturity."

Brand Tasmania works across trade, tourism, talent, investment, and student attraction, and all its efforts are underpinned by what it means to be Tasmanian, by the people who live here.

Mr Babiak will remain in the role until 14 February, 2025. Jessica Radford, Director of Place Branding and Operations, will assume the acting CEO role on 17 February.

Premier Rockliff said Todd and his team exemplify what it means to be a Tasmanian on the quiet pursuit of the extraordinary

"I want to thank Todd for his leadership, and welcome Jess to the role of acting CEO," Premier Rockliff said.
