As a response to the growing pressure, at national and international levels, on companies to embrace ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) standards, the Nigeria Employers Consultative Association (NECA) engaged into strengthening its capacities to provide sustainable information and training services on ESG to its members.
On 8 and 9 July, 20 NECA staff and partners participated in a training of trainers (ToT) in Lagos as part of the ILO Bureau for Employers 'Activities (ACT/EMP) LEADER programme (Leading Employers in Action for Social and Environmental Responsibility). The training course, developed by the International Training Centre of the ILO (ITCILO), enables business membership organizations to sensitize and equip companies with practical ESG knowledge and tools to enhance their sustainability strategy and competitiveness. A localized version was developed to incorporate the specificities of the Nigerian context
