NM Insurance Launches Grants Program for Caravanning, Boating & Motorcycling

Caravan Industry Association of Australia

Leading trans-Tasman insurance agency, NM Insurance, is proud to announce the launch of the NM Insurance Community Grants Program.

The Program will provide regular grants to community-based initiatives focused on recreational caravanning, boating, and motorcycling.

All applications for NM Insurance Community Grants will be assessed three times per year by a voluntary Committee. This voluntary Committee consists of respected professionals from the marine, motorcycle and caravan industries as well as members of NM Insurance's Executive Team.

Lyndon Turner, CEO, NM Insurance said of the Program: "We are always looking for new ways in which NM Insurance can support the communities we live and work within. It's this desire to make a difference at a grassroots level which led us to create the NM Insurance Community Grants Program. The Program also reflects our core company values of doing what is right and building respect and trust through integrity and authenticity. When defining the scope of the Program, we recognised the vast number of worthy local groups and admirable community-based initiatives throughout Australia and New Zealand. However, we felt the most natural fit for the NM Insurance Community Grants Program was to support local initiatives based around the areas of boating, caravanning, or motorcycling, to align with the types of assets our NM Insurance brands protect."

Members of the NM Insurance Community Grants Committee include Suzanne Davies (CEO, Marina Industries Association), Stuart Lamont (CEO, Caravan Industry Association of Australia), Robert Walker (National Sales and Marketing Manager, Kawasaki Motors), Lyndon Turner (CEO, NM Insurance), Lesley Hambusch (Head of Legal, Compliance and Training, NM Insurance) and Neha Taskar (Head of Marketing, Brand, and Communications, NM Insurance). The NM Insurance Community Grants Committee will meet in March, July, and November each year to award grants.

Stuart Lamont, CEO Caravan Industry Association of Australia said: "This is a fantastic initiative that I am proud to be involved with. It is important that corporates that provide services to these communities reinvest and support community-based initiatives. Across Australia, there are tens of thousands of campers who volunteer to support vulnerable groups, disaster-affected areas and much more. Their generous and selfless contribution is something this program is designed to support."

To mark the launch of the NM Insurance Community Grants Program, an additional launch grant has been awarded to Narrabeen Lakes Sailing Club, a local organisation situated on Sydney's Northern Beaches. Narrabeen Lakes Sailing Club spokesperson John Veale commented: "Narrabeen Lakes Sailing Club members are very grateful for the generous offer of an NM Insurance Community Grant as we rebuild our operations following the fire which destroyed most of our boats and equipment in late 2021. In particular, the grant will help us continue to introduce local girls and boys to the sport of sailing. Thank you, NM Insurance."

Applications for the March 2023 round of NM Insurance Community Grants are now open.
