Nominate For Murray's 2026 Australia Day Awards

Nominations are now open for Murray River Council's 2026 Australia Day Awards.

Council is calling on residents to nominate those who have gone above and beyond in their efforts, whether through volunteering, leadership, creativity or sporting achievement.

Nominations are currently being accepted in the following award categories:

  • Citizen of the Year
  • Young Citizen of the Year
  • Sportsperson of the Year
  • Young Sportsperson of the Year
  • Community Event of the Year
  • Community Group of the Year
  • Arts/Cultural Award (person or group)

Murray River Council Mayor, Cr John Harvie, said the awards shine a light on the people who make an enduring difference in our communities.

"Every year, we are reminded just how many incredible people we have living and working in our towns and villages," Cr Harvie said.

"From tireless volunteers to community leaders, athletes, artists and event organisers. These awards are our chance to recognise their commitment and to say thank you in a meaningful way."

Nominations close 31 October 2025.

The Awards will be presented on Australia Day, 26 January 2026.
