Norfolk Oceania Party passes resolution, calling for democratic self-rule

At a public meeting held on Wednesday 25 August 2021, Norfolk Oceania Party has passed a resolution of no confidence in the current administration, calling for a democratic self government be established on Norfolk Island immediately, allowing the Norfolk Island community to control their future and their economic and social wellbeing.

The meeting was chaired by Mr John Brown.

The full text of the resolution: 

THOSE PRESENT AT A PUBLIC MEETING HELD AT THE SOUTH PACIFIC  RESORT HOTEL on 25 August 2021 RESOLVED  

(a) That we have no confidence in Assistant Minister Nola Marino, the  Administrator of Norfolk Island, Eric Hutchinson, Dr Oliver Holm, the  Interim Administrator of Norfolk Island, Michael Colreavy, and the General  Manager of the Norfolk Island Regional Council, Andrew Roach, and calls  them all to resign their positions in relation to Norfolk Island by 5pm  Friday 27 August 2021, failing we call for their immediate dismissal; and 

(b)that the Australian Governor-General and Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II  and the British Parliament be informed and be asked to act forthwith  ensuring that the above-mentioned people be immediately withdrawn  from Norfolk Island to prevent any further damage to the health, culture  and wellbeing of the Norfolk Island community, along with the overall  financial stability and happiness of the island; and 

(c) that a democratic self government be established on Norfolk Island immediately, allowing the Norfolk Island community to control their future and their economic and social wellbeing.
