The Liberal and Nationals' Government has today committed $830,000 to upgrade the North Hobart Football Club.
This local club was founded in 1881 and has won 28 premierships, making it the second most successful football club in Australian city-based football competition.
The project will include the construction of a new kiosk, a roof over the wet area on the Hill, a terraced standing area, a new AFL compliant coaches and media box and a lift to Plaister Stand.
More than 17,000 people use the ground each year with three men's and one women's team training at the facility up to three times a week and a further 45 games played on the oval each season.
It is also used by State League soccer, charity groups, AFL Tasmania Junior Academies and AFL Clubs for pre-season training.
The Liberal and Nationals' Government is investing in this vital piece of community infrastructure to ensure it is used by generations for many years to come.
