Northern suburbs man arrested for child sex offences

A northern suburbs man was arrested today (Tuesday 10 October) for child sexual offences.

The arrest by SAPOL's Special Crime Investigation Section came as a result of a referral from the Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team (JACET), a joint team between the Australian Federal Police and South Australia Police.

The 54-year-old man was arrested for possessing child exploitation material and taking steps to access child exploitation material.

He was bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrate Court on 22 November.

Detective Senior Sergeant Amanda Lewis, Manager Special Crimes Investigation Section said, "These are not just images on a screen, every image and every second of a video has a real child being abused and being subjected to a situation that no child should ever experience. Members of the public who have information about people involved in child abuse and exploitation are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.crimestopperssa.com.au"
