Northern suburbs schools locked down, SA

Police are investigating a threat made to a northern suburbs school today, however the situation has been resolved, according to SA Police.

The source of the threat, and whether there are any links to similar incidents interstate, are being fully investigated.

The safety of students is the top priority for both police and education authorities.

The school, and surrounding schools, were locked down as a precaution, however, schools have resumed normal activity.

Police wish to reassure parents and the local community that there was no risk to students.

Police warn that those responsible for the making the threat could face serious charges, including creating a false belief which can result in a prison sentence.

SAPOL and the Department for Education and Child Development are working together to ensure an appropriate response in each case.
