NSW man arrested after 100km pursuit ends near Picton

A man has been arrested after allegedly leading police on a 100 kilometre pursuit this afternoon, NSW Police say.

The pursuit began about 1.10pm today, when the Queensland registered Holden Commodore was spotted in Dixon Street at Parramatta.

The vehicle allegedly did not stop for a random breath-test when directed to do so.

A pursuit began on Boundary Street at Parramatta and was later terminated on the Great Western Highway at Westmead.

Around 1.50pm, the Commodore was spotted again on the Cumberland Highway at Liverpool and a second pursuit began.

The pursuit travelled through a number of streets in Liverpool before heading onto the Hume Motorway.

The car stopped on the Colo Vale off-ramp of the Hume Motorway. It will be alleged the driver ran from the vehicle.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 26-year-old Hawthorne (Queensland) man, was arrested a short distance away.

He was taken to Bowral Police Station where he continues to assist with inquiries. There were no reports of injury.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stopers.
