NSW man arrested after malicious wounding

A man has been arrested over the wounding of a man in Sydney’s west yesterday, NSW Police say.

Just before 8pm today, a 56-year-old man sustained a wound to his head during an alleged altercation at a home in Third Avenue, Berkshire Park.

Officers from Penrith Local Area Command attended and commenced investigations.

The man was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital. His injuries are serious but are not considered life-threatening.

A 61-year-old man was arrested and taken to Penrith Police Station where he is assisting police with inquiries.
