NSW man charged after robbery

Police have charged a man after responding to a robbery in Sydney’s north west this morning.

About 1.45am today, police were called to a service station on George Street, Bligh Park, following reports of a robbery.

Police have been told a man entered the store and threatened the attendant, demanding cash, NSW Police say.

An alarm was activated and the man fled, empty handed.

Officers from Hawkesbury Local Area Command attended and conducted a search of the area with assistance from the Police Dog Unit.

A 31-year-old man was located nearby and arrested.

He was taken to Windsor Police Station where he was charged with demand property with menaces with intent to steal.

He was refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court today. today
