NSW man charged following fatal collision

Police have charged a man following a two-vehicle fatal collision in Sydney’s south earlier this month.

Shortly after 2.30am (9 April 2016), emergency services were called to a head-on collision between two cars on Heathcote Road, Sandy Point.

NSW Ambulance Paramedics attempted to assist the male driver of the car; however he died at the scene, NSW Police say.


The male driver of the other vehicle suffered minor injuries and was taken to Liverpool Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit commenced an investigation into the crash resulting in the arrest of a 32-year-old man at Oran Park about 9pm yesterday today.

He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, negligent driving occasioning death, not give particulars to police, and not keep left of dividing line.

He was given bail and will appear in Sutherland Local Court on 30 May 2016.

His licence has been suspended.
