NSW man charged following investigation into drug supply

A man has been charged after drugs, a hand-made pistol and other items were seized, following investigations into the supply of drugs in the Coffs Harbour area, NSW Police say.

In September 2014, Strike Force Bouchet was established by officers from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command to investigate the supply of drugs in the Coffs Harbour area.

About 4.25pm today (12 July 2016), following investigations, officers stopped a Holden sedan on the Pacific Highway at Korora.

Following a search of the car, officer allegedly located and seized an amount of drugs believed to be ‘ice’, and cash.

The driver, a 34-year-old man, was arrested and taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station.

Following his arrest, officers executed a search warrant at a unit on the Pacific Highway, Coffs Harbour, where they allegedly located and seized an amount of drugs believed to be ‘ice’, a hand-made pistol, ammunition, and other items.

All seized items will undergo forensic examinations.

The man was charged with a number of offences including; supply commercial quantity of prohibited drugs, participate in criminal group, possess unauthorised firearm, and possess ammunition.

He was refused bail and is due to appear at Coffs Harbour Local Court tomorrow.
