NSW man charged following search warrant

A man has been charged with property and drugs charges following a search warrant east of Lismore yesterday, NSW Police say.

Just after 1pm today, police from Richmond Local Area Command attended a property on Batrels Road, McLeans Ridges, about 15km east of Lismore.

As police were executing the search warrant, they located and arrested a 31-year-old man inside the property who was allegedly wanted by virtue of several warrants.

A subsequent search of the premises allegedly located cannabis, prescribed restricted drugs, an air-rifle, knuckle-dusters and other drug paraphernalia. A stolen vehicle allegedly used by the man was also located on the property.

The occupier of the house, a 45-year-old man, was detained but later released pending further inquiries.

The 31-year-old man was taken to Lismore Police Station and charged with take & drive conveyance, drive while disqualified, possess prescribed restricted substance and possess prohibited weapon without permit.

He was refused bail to appear before Lismore Local Court today tomorrow.

Investigations are continuing and further charges are expected to be laid.
