NSW man charged over alleged possession of child abuse material

Police have charged a man over the alleged possession of child abuse material in Surry Hills., NSW Police say


About 1.30pm yesterday, today, detectives from Surry Hills Local Area Command executed a search warrant at a home on Bourke Street, Surry Hills.


During a search of the home, police located a number of USB and hard drives as well as other computer devices that allegedly contained child abuse material.

Police will allege a blank prescription pad, medical drugs and equipment and a small amount of liquid and capsules, believed to be a prohibited drug, were located.

All items were seized and will undergo forensic examination.

A 30-year-old man was arrested and taken to Surry Hills Police Station, where he was charged with possess child abuse material, possession of prohibited drugs and possession of the proceeds of crime.

He was refused bail to appear before Central Local Court today tomorrow.
