A man has been charged over the alleged sexual and indecent assault of a teenage girl in Sydney’s south-west earlier this year, NSW Police say.
Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse Squad commenced an investigation following reports a 15-year-old girl had been sexually assaulted.
Following inquiries, a 36-year-old man was arrested at a home at Macquarie Fields yesterday.
The man was taken to Macquarie Fields Police Station and charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault, five counts of aggravated indecent assault and procuring a child.
Police will allege the man, who was known to the girl, sexually and indecently assaulted her during visits to his home last summer.
He was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today.
The Child Abuse Squad is comprised of detectives who are specially trained to investigate crimes against children, including sexual assault, physical abuse and serious cases of neglect.
