NSW man charged with assault and resist police

A man has been charged with assault and resisting police arrest after an alleged domestic violence incident in Raymond Terrace, NSW Police say.

About 2pm yesterday today, police were called to a Wahroonga Street home, following reports of an incident between a man and a woman.

Police attended the home and located a 22-year-old woman with burns.

NSW Ambulance Paramedics attended the location and treated the woman.

Police attempted to speak to a 22-year-old man at the location when he allegedly became aggressive towards them.

It will be alleged that the man continued to resist police and as a result an officer attempted to deploy a Taser to subdue him. The man was not hit by the Taser.

After speaking with police further, the man was then arrested at the scene.

The man was taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station and was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and resist officer in execution of duty.

He has been given conditional bail to appear at Raymond Terrace Local Court on 6 September 2016.
