NSW man charged with drink driving and offensive behaviour

A man will appear in court next month after he allegedly urinated in full-view of other motorists and drove under the influence of alcohol at Quakers Hill today, NSW Police say.

Shortly after 3.30pm today, officers from North West Metropolitan Highway Patrol Command were conducting enforcement duties at the intersection of Quakers Hill Parkway and Eastern Road as part of Operation ‘Towards Zero’.

At the busy intersection officers observed a silver Holden Commodore stop before the intersection and the male driver leave the vehicle.

Police will allege the man walked to the side of the road and urinated in full-view of passing motorists and pedestrians.

Police approached the man and directed him to stop; however, he refused.

The officers determined that the man had allegedly been drinking alcohol whilst driving the vehicle and were eventually able to conduct a roadside breath test.

After returning a positive result the man was arrested and taken to Riverstone Police Station, where the man underwent a breath analysis and returned an alleged reading of 0.147.

The 49-year-old issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for drive with the mid-range prescribed concentration of alcohol (PCA), driver consume alcohol whilst driving, and offensive conduct.

He is due to appear at Blacktown Local Court on 26 September 2016.
