A man is due to appear in Newcastle Local Court today charged with murder.
Detectives attached to Lake Macquarie Local Area Command established Strike Force Retractor to investigate the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of a 28-year-old Christopher Daunt, NSW Police say.
The Newcastle man disappeared in April 2015.
Investigators executed a search warrant yesterday today at a home on Elaine Street, Rankin Park.
A number of items were seized and will undergo forensic examination.
Police arrested a 33-year-old man at the premises and he was taken to Belmont Police Station.
The man was later charged with murder.
He was refused bail and will appear at Newcastle Local Court today tomorrow.
Investigators continue with their inquiries and will today further examine human remains located at Seahampton.
