NSW man injured after crash

A man sustained minor facial injuries after being hit by an oncoming ambulance in Sydney’s west tonight today, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to the Great Western Highway, near the intersection of Belinda Place, at Mays Hill about 6pm

Police were told a man in his 20s had been taken to Westmead Hospital prior to their arrival.

It is understood the ambulance was not on urgent duty at the time of the crash. The man had been attempting to cross the Great Western Highway.

The paramedic, who was driving, was breath tested at the scene. This returned a negative result.

Police from Holroyd Local Area Command are investigating the events leading up to the crash

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stopers.
