NSW police appeal after break and enter and pursuit near Dubbo

Police are appealing for information after an aggravated break and enter, followed by a pursuit, near Dubbo last month, NSW Police say.

About 4.40am on Friday 23 February 2018, it is believed a group of men broke into a licenced premises on Armatree Road, Merrigal, about 100kms north of Dubbo.

Electronic equipment and a large amount of alcohol were stolen from the location.

The incident was reported to police from Orana Mid-Western Police District, who established a crime scene and launched an investigation.

A maroon-coloured Holden Colorado was seen leaving the area before entering a rural property on Bullagreen Road, where a Nissan Patrol utility was reported stolen.

The driver of the Nissan then rammed two cars multiple times, before the vehicle was set on fire a short distance away.

A firearm and an amount of ammunition were stolen from the vehicle before it was destroyed.

A man whose vehicle was rammed, attended Gilgandra Hospital with minor injuries, while another male driver was uninjured.

The Holden Colorado was later located on the side of Armatree Warren Road with a number of stolen items found inside.

It is believed the group then travelled on foot to a nearby property on Bullagreen-Bourbah Road, where a Toyota Avalon, with NSW registration plates YHS 815, was stolen.

The vehicle was sighted by police on the Newell Highway at Brocklehurst, travelling south toward Dubbo, and a pursuit was initiated.

Police terminated the pursuit after losing sight of the vehicle, which was last seen travelling south on Cobra Street, Dubbo. Police are still searching for the car.

A number of crime scenes were established by police and inquiries into the incidents are continuing.

About 4.30pm on Monday 26 February 2018, officers executed a search warrant at a property on Gloucester Avenue, Dubbo.

A number of items, including clothing and a substance believed to be illicit drugs were located and seized.

As inquires continue police are urging anyone with information about the incidents to come forward.
