NSW police appeal after home invasion

Police are appealing for information following a home invasion and carjacking on Sydney’s Lower North Shore, NSW Police say.

Police have been told two women and a man were inside their home on Epping Road, Lane Cove, just after 10.30 am today, when a man approached the front door and spoke to one of the women, who refused the man entry.

It will be alleged the man forced entry into the home and grabbed the woman from behind causing her to fall to the ground, before threatening her and the other occupants with a syringe, demanding money and other items.

As the man fled the scene, he approached another woman and threatened her, before stealing her black Volkswagen Golf with NSW registration plates AV59XK. The car was last seen heading down Epping Road.

Officers attached to North Shore Local Area Command established a crime scene and commenced and investigation.

They would like to speak to a man who might be able to assist with inquiries.

The man has been described to police as being of Caucasian appearance and about 180cm tall. He was last seen wearing a yellow and blue long sleeved shirt, navy pants, dark shoes and a white cloth across his face.

Anyone who has seen the vehicle or who has information is urged to contact police via Crime Stoppers.
