NSW police appeal after woman assaulted

Police are appealing for assistance after a woman was assaulted at Woolgoolga, north of Coffs Harbour, earlier this year, NSW Police say.

About 5pm on Sunday 14 February 2016, a 19-year-old woman was approached on Woolgoola’s main beach by a man asking for assistance.

The woman assisted the man and was later assaulted by him on Market Street.

Detectives from Coffs / Clarence Local Area Command were later notified of the incident and commenced inquiries.

Following protracted investigations, police would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being of Indian Sub-Continental appearance, about 25-30 years-old, 180cm tall and 80-90kgs with short black hair and a bushy black beard.

The man was last seen wearing dark long pants, a light-coloured long-sleeve shirt, a silver-coloured bangle on his left wrist and was barefoot.

Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is urged to contact Coffs Harbour Police or Crime Stoppers.
