NSW police charge man with assault

Police have charged a man with assault following an alleged glassing incident in Coffs Harbour yesterday, NSW Police say.


About 8pm yesterday, police were called to an establishment in Coffs Harbour following an altercation between a 23-year-old man and a 31-year-old man.

It will be alleged that the 31-year-old man attacked the victim with a glass, chipping two front teeth and causing swelling to the upper lip, the right eye and a laceration to his left shoulder blade.

Following inquiries, police arrested the 31-year-old man and charged him with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He was granted bail to appear at Coffs Harbour Local Court on 24 October 2016.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
