NSW Police Force Wall of Remembrance desecrated in Domain

An investigation is underway after the NSW Police Force Wall of Remembrance in the Domain was desecrated, NSW Police say.

Just before 4pm today, a member of the public contacted police after seeing a man defacing the memorial.

The man was observed using an unknown object to scratch over the NSW Police Crest, along with five panels containing the names of deceased police officers.

Police attached to Sydney City Local Area Command attended, spoke to witnesses and conducted a search of the area.

An investigation is underway and police are appealing for information in an attempt to identify and locate the man.

He’s described as being aged in his mid 20s, approximately 178cm tall, with a medium build and brown hair. He was carrying a skateboard at the time.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has information that may assist, is urged to come forward.
