NSW police investigating after pursuit

Police are investigating after a pursuit on the Central Coast yesterday.

About 4.10pm (Thursday 5 July 2018), an officer from the Traffic & Highway Patrol Command attempted to stop a Subaru Liberty travelling north on the M1 at Berowra.

The Subaru failed to stop and police engaged in a pursuit. Officers successfully deployed road spikes, causing the car to stop at Ourimbah, NSW Police say.

The driver fled on foot into nearby bushland.

The passenger, an 18-year-old man, was arrested and taken to Wyong Police Station. He was later released, pending further inquiries.

Despite a search of bushland with the assistance of the Dog Unit and PolAir, inquiries continue to locate the driver.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
