NSW Police Launches Strike Force Dunguid to Probe Tamarama Death

Metropolitan Crash Investigators have established Strike Force Dunguid to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs yesterday morning.

Officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command and NSW Ambulance paramedics were called to Fletcher Street, Tamarama, shortly after 4am (Sunday 17 March 2024), after a man was found critically injured.

They performed CPR but were unable to revive the man and he died at the scene.

Specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit (CIU) were called in and have now taken over the inquiry.

There have been no arrests at this time.

While not yet formally identified, police are working and supporting the family of a 28-year-old man.

As CCTV continues to be reviewed and witnesses spoken to, investigators renew their to appeal for any relevant information, CCTV or dashcam vision from the public.
