NSW police lay further charges, investigations continue

Two more teenagers have been charged as police continue to investigate a fatal stabbing in Sydney’s north earlier this year, NSW Police say.

Strike Force Berkley was established by detectives from Ryde Local Area Command to investigate the fatal stabbing of a 16-year-old boy at a party on Victoria Road, Ryde, on Sunday 7 August 2016.

A number of other people were also injured during the incident.

To date, detectives have charged four male youths – two aged 16 and two aged 17 – on Thursday (20 October 2016). They appeared at a children’s court on Friday (21 October 2016).

A 19-year-old man was also charged and appeared at Hornsby Local Court on Friday (21 October 2016).

Following further inquiries, a woman, aged 18, was arrested at her Castle Hill home yesterday and taken to Hornsby Police Station.

She has since been charged with affray and granted strict conditional bail to appear at Hornsby Local Court on Wednesday 23 November 2016.

A 17-year-old male was yesterday issued with a Future Court Attendance Notice for the offence of affray to appear at a children’s court on Tuesday 1 November 2016.

Investigations into the incident are continuing and anyone with information, who has not yet spoken with police, is urged to come forward.
