NSW police probe after boy accidently shot near Deniliquin

Police are investigating after a boy was accidentally shot in the state’s south this morning.

About 10.45am (Saturday 24 March 2018) emergency services were called to a rural property in Waugorah, approximately 250km north-west of Deniliquin, following reports a twelve-year-old boy had suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

The boy was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene before being airlifted to The Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, in a serious condition.

Officers from Barrier Police District have launched an investigation into the matter, including whether there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
