NSW police probe assault in Toongabbie

Police are appealing to the public for assistance after a brawl in Toongabbie on Sunday, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to Bryson Street, Toongabbie about 7.30pm (15 January 2017); following reports of a brawl.

Police have been told that a number of people were involved in a fight outside a house with several armed with poles and bats.

Two men, aged 30 and 31, were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Detectives from Parramatta Local Area Command attended and commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following inquiries, a 56-year-old man was arrested at Parramatta Police Station about 8.30pm that day.

He was charged with affray and reckless grievous bodily harm.

The man was given conditional bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Tuesday 31 January 2017.

As investigations into the matter continue, police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the event or has images/video of the incident to contact Parramatta Police Station (02) 9633 0799.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
