NSW police probe fatal pedestrian crash

A man has died after a pedestrian crash on the state’s Mid North Coast yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 5.45pm today, a 45-year-old man was crossing the Oxley Highway, Port Macquarie, when he was struck by a white Toyota Hilux travelling west.

Police and NSW Ambulance Paramedics attended and treated the man. He was taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital where he died a short time later.

The driver of the Toyota Hilux, a 61-year-old man, was taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital for a mandatory blood and urine sample. He was uninjured.

Officers from Mid North Coast Local Area Command are investigating and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
