NSW police probe fire at Camperdown

Police are investigating a fire at a business in Camperdown overnight, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to a business on Larkin Street, Camperdown about 10.55pm today, following reports of a fire.

Police have been told a man lit a fire in the entrance of the business before leaving the scene.

Fire fighters from Fire & Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze, which caused damage to entrance of the building.

No one was injured during the incident.

Officers attached to Leichardt Local Area Command attended and searched for the man. However, were unable to locate him.

Police have launched an investigation into the matter and a crime scene has been established.

The cause of the fire is not yet known; however, it is being treated as suspicious.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
