NSW police probe following armed robbery

Police are investigating following an alleged armed robbery on the state’s Central Coast, NSW Police say.

Just before 10.30pm on Sunday 24 July 2016, a man was walking to his car on Shelley Beach Road, Shelley Beach, after finishing work when he was approached by another man.

Police have been told the man grabbed the victim and allegedly produced a knife before threatening him.

The man has then forced the victim back into the premises before dousing him in petrol and threatening to set him alight if he was not given cash.

The victim handed over a sum of money before he was tied up and covered in more petrol.

The man fled the scene in the victim’s Ford Ranger, which has since been recovered.

Officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

Police would like to speak to man who is described as 178cm tall, large build. He was last seen wearing black long pants, dark hooded top, a balaclava and gloves.
