NSW police probe home invasion near Bathurst

Police are investigating a home invasion in the state’s Central West today, NSW Police say.

Just before 10.30am today, emergency services were called to a home on Guyong Road, Blayney, about 35km west of Bathurst, following reports of a home invasion.

Police have been told a man forced his way into the home, threatening the resident with a firearm.

The man stole property and cash before driving from the scene in a black Ford Focus which belonged to the resident.

Officers from Chifley Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene which will be examined by specialist forensic officers.

No one was injured during the incident.

Police want to speak with a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He is described as being Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander in appearance, 175 to185cm tall, medium build, with a tanned complexion and dark hair.

Police are also appealing that if anyone sees a black 2012 Ford Focus sedan with New South Wales registration BQ48PK, not to approach and contact police immediately.
