NSW police probe robbery on train in Sydney's west

Police have released CCTV images and are appealing for public assistance following a robbery on a train in Sydney’s west earlier this year, NSW Police say.

Between 4.00pm and 11.45pm on Wednesday 6 January, 2016, a 52-year-old woman was asleep on a train between Summer Hill and Macquarie Fields when her mobile phone, wallet and laptop were stolen.

Officers from the Police Transport Command were notified and commenced inquiries into the incident.

As part of their ongoing inquiries, police have now released CCTV images of a man they believe may be able to assist them.

The man is described as having a medium build, with a distinctive tattoo on the back of his neck. He is shown wearing a baseball cap.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Police Transport Command on (02) 8713 5399 or Crime Stopers.
