Police are reappealing for information after a vehicle used by two escapees was recovered near Yeoval, about 70km south of Dubbo yesterday, NSW Police say.

Geoffrey Fieldsend, 30; and Richard Reginald Pretty, 29, were last seen at a minimum-security correctional centre on Mitchell Street, Ivanhoe, about 6pm on Saturday 9 July 2016.

The pair were noticed missing immediately, and a search was initiated.

The men were travelling in a stolen Mitsubishi Triton twin-cab two-tone utility which was last sighted on Trida Road, Ivanhoe.

About 2pm yesterday, police from Orana Local Area Command were alerted to an unattended vehicle fitting the description on Obley Road, about 10km west of Yeoval.

Officers secured the vehicle and seized several items of clothing believed to belong to the pair. A search of the surrounding area failed to locate the men.

Geoffrey Fieldsend is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall, with a slim build, short blond hair and is now believed to have changed his clothing.

Richard Pretty is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall, of medium build, with short light-coloured hair, a short beard, and is also believed to have changed his clothing.

Anyone who may have seen two men in the area matching these descriptions is urged not to approach them but to contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stopers.
