NSW police release CCTV image following armed robbery

Police have released CCTV images and are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery at Rooty Hill last month, NSW Police say.

Shortly after 6pm on Sunday 15 May 2016, a man entered the Rooty Hill Road South service station and purchased a packet of cigarettes.

As the male employee placed the money in the register, the man produced what appeared to be a black coloured pistol and threatened the employee while demanding money and cigarettes.

The man grabbed money from the register and cigarette packets before he fled from the store.

Officers from Mount Druitt Local Area Command attended and detectives from the Metropolitan Robbery Unit established Strike Force Pamger to investigate the incident.

Detectives have released a CCTV image of a man who they believe can assist with inquiries.

The man is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, aged in his 20s, with a tall, thin build and unshaven.

He is depicted wearing blue work pants, a black and fluorescent orange work shirt and grey bucket hat.

Anyone who may have information that can assist investigators should contact Crime Stopers.
