NSW police search for missing man off Bombo, near Kiama

A search is underway for a man believed to be missing on the states south coast, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to Bombo Quarry at 8pm last night today, following a concern for welfare.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command attended and located a number of items on the headland.

As a result of the property being found, police now hold significant concerns for a man’s welfare.

Last night, a search was commenced with the assistance of Police Rescue, SES and the Ambulance Helicopter.

The search was suspended at 9.30pm last night due to poor lights.

The search was recommended at 8.30am this morning tomorrow, involving police from Lake Illawarra Local area Command, Marine Area Command, Police Rescue, PolAir and the SES.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
