An investigation is underway after a man was found seriously injured in Eden, on the state’s south coast, today, NSW Police say.
Emergency services were called to a country club on the Princes Highway about 9.30am (Friday 25 May 2018), after reports of a fire on the golf course.
The fire was extinguished and a 62-year-old man was found nearby. The man was suffering serious head injuries and significant burns.
He was taken to a local hospital before being airlifted to Concord Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Detectives from the South Coast Police District established a crime scene and have commenced inquiries.
The cause of the fire, or whether the incident is suspicious, isn’t yet known and investigators are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
In particular, police would like to speak with anyone who saw the man at the club prior to him being located injured.
