Police are continuing their investigation and are appealing for assistance after a pedestrian died following a collision in Sydney’s north-west this morning, NSW Police say.
Shortly before 11am today, emergency services were called to James Ruse Drive, near the intersection of Pennant Hills Road, North Parramatta, following reports a man had been struck by a car.
Officers from Parramatta Local Area Command have been told the 19-year-old Wentworthville man had been attempting to change a tyre on his vehicle, when he was struck by a passing car.
He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics; however, he died at the scene.
No one else was injured during the incident.
Specialist officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit (MCIU), also attended the scene and conducted an examination.
The driver of the other vehicle, a 41-year-old Turramurra man, was taken to Westmead Hospital where he underwent mandatory blood and urine tests.
Police from MCIU are now appealing for any witnesses, who’ve not yet spoken to police, to come forward.
In particular, they’re keen to hear from a woman who’s been described as being of Asian appearance and was wearing a blue top.
It’s believed she was travelling in another vehicle nearby ahead of the collision and may be able to assist police with their inquiries.
Investigations to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are continuing and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stopers.
