NSW police seek info following stealing and assault

Police are appealing for information following a stealing and assault at a train station Sydney’s south-west earlier this month, NSW Police say.

Between 12pm – 12.30pm on Monday 11 July 2016, a teenage male approached another 14-year-old boy and allegedly snatched a hat of his head. The teenage male boarded a train immediately, followed by the boy.

As the teenager got off the train at the next stop, the boy approached him and requested his hat back.

The teenager allegedly produced a knife and threatened the boy before leaving.

Officers from Campsie Local Area Command are continuing with inquiries and have now released CCTV images and footage of a person who they believe can assist with inquiries.

The person is described as being a male of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, approximately 16-18 years old, 180 - 185cm tall, and with a muscular build.

He is depicted wearing a dark blue hooded ‘Adidas’ jumper with three white strips down each arm, white shorts, white runners, and a cap.

Police are urging the person in the images or anyone who recognises him to contact police.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stopers.
