NSW police seek to identify woman found dead at Snapper Point

Police investigating the suspicious death of a woman whose body was found on the state’s Central Coast at the weekend are appealing for public assistance as they try to identify her.

About 10.30am on Sunday 24 April 2016, emergency services were called to Snapper Point in the Munmorah State Conservation Area following the discovery of a woman’s body face down in water inside the blow hole.

The Homicide Squad together with Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command have formed Strike Force Elise to investigate all circumstances surrounding the woman’s death which they are treating as a homicide.

A post mortem examination is ongoing; however, it is believed the woman suffered a violent death having been stabbed numerous times.

The woman, who was found naked with no jewellery or other personal items, is described as being of Asian appearance, about 170cm tall, with a medium build, shoulder-length dark hair, and aged from her early 20s to mid 30s.

Police have released a computer-generated image of the woman in the hope someone can help to identify her.

They are also asking any person who is concerned that they have not seen a missing friend, work colleague or neighbour to come forward.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stopers.
