Police are continuing to investigate how a man came to be critically injured outside a service station at Blacktown overnight and are seeking dash cam vision related to the incident, NSW Police say.
Officers from Blacktown Local Area Command were called to the corner of Sunnyholt Road and Forge Street about 10.20pm today, after the 21-year-old man was injured.
It’s believed he was with a group of friends before being involved in some sort of altercation. As a result he ended up on the roadway where he was struck by a passing car.
The driver of the car, a 65-year-old man, has co-operated with police and undertaken mandatory tests at hospital.
The injured man, from Orange, was taken to Westmead Hospital by NSW Ambulance paramedics where he remains in a critical condition.
Police are now trying to piece together the events that led to him being injured. They are appealing for any person who was in the vicinity last night, including any motorists who have dash cams in their vehicles, to come forward.
A 25-year-old man is currently in police custody as investigations continue.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
